1. Pre-production: We’ll plan the roadmap for your project, covering arrangement, tempo, and instrumentation to ensure a solid foundation. Meetings can be online or in person, based on your preference.
2. Recording: Capture high-quality performances in 1-3 hour sessions. I specialize in recording vocals, guitars, keyboards, bass, and programmed drums. Need live musicians? I can recommend top professionals from my network.
3. Mixing: I craft your music with expert blending techniques like balancing, EQ, and reverb, ensuring a professional sound across all audio devices.
4. Mastering: Finalize your track with precision, using top-tier tools for streaming or vinyl, giving it the polished, professional finish it deserves.

Yes! I studied classical piano and jazz guitar to a professional level, and I am self taught on all the other instruments listed. If I feel uncomfortable to deliver a certain sound, I am happy to recommend a professional drummer, violin, saxophone player etc. If your budget is tight, I have access to premium software instruments that do the trick.
Live sessions are paid immediately after the session. Production services require a 50% deposit before work begins, and the remainder is due one week after the final files are transferred to the client.
All payments are made out to e-transfer to Alex.Purcell@icloud.com, or I can take credit card payments through Stripe. Please note, I will offer a 15% discount to projects of 3 or more songs.
Yes! My business was born during the pandemic, so rest assured I am very comfortable with recording, mixing, or mastering live before your webcam. I run these sessions through Zoom, and you will hear exactly what I’m doing, while still being able to collaborate together. Much of the work in my portfolio was created via virtual sessions.
Whatever way suits the client the best. I have recorded vocalists in their homes, in studios, in rehearsal spaces, or even in the public library. Please let me know where you will feel most comfortable singing, and if you need recommendations for vocal studios, and what your budget is for renting.
It’s different for everyone, but I do not allow projects to last longer than the following terms, unless there has been extraneous circumstances that have stopped us from moving forward on the project. The following timelines are the average I can deliver. For a rush order, I can push this for an extra 15%.
Singles – 1-3 months per song
EP – 4-6 months per 4-6 songs
Album – 6 months to a year per 9-12 songs
I include 4 revisions for production, 3 revisions for mixing, and 2 revisions for mastering. I encourage the artist to send as many notes as they can think of after you receive your files . If you still want to revise the project I can offer $25 per revision beyond what’s already included. It is also possible to book a virtual revision session on Zoom with me at $50 per hour, if you would rather have more control over the edits.
